Paperback Cheerleader

What keeps you going?

"It's not how GOOD you are, it's how GOOD you want to be" was published in 2003. It's from the advertising world, but the ideas are relevant to any creative field.

Why do we strive for Excellence, when so often, Mediocrity is required?
A. Because creative people need something to rebel against.
B. Because I do it for me.

Brooklyn Art Library- sketchbook project

On Sunday, I went back to the area just around Voos, to get some more of that Mast Brother's chocolate. Then I noticed that just to the left of Voos, there's actually this amazing travelling art library, showing over 10,000 sketchbooks contributed by artists around the country.

Field trip to Voos

Before I Die....

Installation artist, Candy Chang took an abandoned building in New Orleans and turned it into a work of public art. Some of the entries are very moving, others silly, and some heart-felt.

What would you write?

Made with primer, chalkboard paint, stencils, spray paint, chalk.

What Happens When

I had to opportunity last night to check out this new restaurant concept in Soho called What Happens When. Opened this January, the idea behind the restaurant is to change the design, overall concept, menu, chef, and experience monthly. The theme this month was based on the Impressionistic painting by Renoir.

A Paper Record Player

Quite the creative invite by Mike and Karen! It is a folded paper record player that plays an original song by them.
